### PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE STUDENT TEAMS ACHIEVEMENT DIVISION PADA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 3 PADANG

**SUMMARY**

The research was based on the fact that most of student grade VII SMP Negeri 3 Padang got the low score on the math daily test. The student didn’t participate in the learning process, so they didn’t understand the material well. That’s why, some student had difficulties in solving the math problem, on of the alternative way to outcome this case is using the cooperative learning type *Student Teams Achievement Division*.

The purpose of this study to determine the class VII student learning outcomes that apply cooperative learning model Student Teams Achievement Division. Comparison of the results of the research hypothesis that the learning of mathematics learning to apply the model *Student Teams Achievement Division* better than mathematics learning outcomes of students applying regular learning.

This type of research is experimental. The population in the study were all students grade and selected VII. VII.3 experimental class, VII.4 as the one. Based on the research results,results of experimental class learning has increased. For the first hypothesis test used t-tests at the level of using the final test data to test student learning outcomes. Data obtained on the calculation of final test P = 0.257 > 0.05 can be concluded that students' mathematics learning outcomes that apply cooperative learning type*Student Teams Achievement Divisions*better than the mathematics learning outcomes of students applying regular learning.

Based on the research results, it is suggested teachers of mathematics may implement cooperative learning model *Student Teams Achievement Divisions*in mathematics as one alternative to improve mathematics learning outcomes.
