The low learning outcome of mathematics students of class VII SMPN 27 Padang one of them caused by the lack of activities that students do in the learning process. So the effort is to apply cooperative learning type Talking Sick. This learning trains students to express their opinions.

The purpose of this research is to know the student's learning activity and to know the result of study of student of class VII SMPN 27 Padang during applied model of cooperative learning type Talking Stick, better than result of learning of student mathematics learning applying ordinary learning.Hypothesis in this study is the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics implementation using cooperative learning model Talking Stick type higher than the proportion of students who achieve mastery learning mathematics with ordinary learning in students of class VII SMPN 27 Padang.

The type of research used is experiment. The population in the study were the students of class VII SMPN 27 Padang in the 2016/2017 school year consisting of seven classes. The sample in this research is class VII.2 as experiment class and class VII.4 as control class.Learning activity data is obtained from the observation sheet. The results showed that the percentage of students who conducted the activity in the experimental class experienced an increase and in the control class also increased except in the student activity the third indicator still fluctuated.

While the data of student learning outcomes was analyzed using chi square test. In the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the results of learning mathematics students who apply cooperative learning model Talking stick type better than the results of learning mathematics students who apply ordinary learning.
