PENERAPAN STRATEGI IMPROVE DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 2 BAYANG

SUMMARY

 

The low yield learning mathematics grade VIII SMP 2 Shadows caused by several factors. Including a lack of self-confidence of students to state his opinion, there are still many students who meribut the time the learning process is ongoing, the lack of interaction between teachers and students, as well as the students are less skilled in working on examples of questions provided by the teacher.

            To address those problems one effort that can be made is with the application of strategies IMPROVE. This research aims to know the results of the lesson that students learn math using the strategy IMPROVE better results from learning math learning with students in class VIII SMP 2 Shadows. The hypothesis of this research is the result of learning math students apply strategies IMPROVE the learning results of students who applied regular learning in students of class VIII SMP 2 Shadow.

This type of research is the research experiments. The population in this research is the whole grade VIII SMP 2 Shadows. The sample in this research is the class VIII. 6 and as many as 26 students as class experiments and class VIII. 7 as many as 23 students as a class controls.

Based on the results of a study of students in both classes of the samples, after doing the test the hypothesis by using the t-test formula, obtained  that is 2,4 1,68  so  repelled hypothesis. Thus it can be concluded that the results of learning math students apply strategies IMPROVE better results from learning math students who applied regular learning in students of class VIII SMP 2 Shadows.

Based on the results of this study, the authors suggest that researchers can then implement strategies IMPROVE and correct the flaws in this research so as to provide better results.
