PENGARUH PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPETHINK PAIR SHARE TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 3 PADANG
This research is in background because the result of student's mathematics learning which still many are below KKM value (Minimum Exhaustiveness Criteria). There are several factors that cause low student learning outcomes in following the process of learning mathematics, such as lack of motivation and student activeness in following the process of learning mathematics. Learning is still going in one direction, from teacher to student. The student tends to be silent when the teacher asks about the understanding of the material being taught. To overcome this problem, one of the efforts that can be done is the Application of Cooperative Learning Model Type Think Pair Share On Mathematics Learning
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the results of learning mathematics students who apply cooperative learning model Think Pair Share Type better than the learning Mathematics students who apply the usual learning model to students of class VIII SMPN 3 Padang. The hypothesis of this study is the result of learning mathematics of students applying cooperative learning model Think Pair Share type better than the result of learning mathematics students applying the usual learning model on the students of grade VIII SMPN 3 Padang.
The type of this research is experimental research with student population of class VIII SMPN 3 Padang registered in academic year 2016/2017. For sampling technique used Simple Random Sampling with class VIII-1 as experiment class and class VIII-2 as control class.
To test the hypothesis used t-test on the level of α = 0.05. From the calculation obtained tcount = 1.73 and ttabel = 1.67 because tcount>ttable then hypothesis H0 rejected. Thus, the accepted hypothesis is that the results of learning mathematics students who apply cooperative learning model Think Pair Share type better than the results of learning mathematics students using regular learning in students of grade VIII SMPN 3 Padang.
Based on the results of this study, the authors suggest that teachers can use this learning model as an alternative to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes for the better.
