ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to investigate the biology student learning outcomes using Active Learning Strategies Model Picture and picture and its impact on learning outcomes rather than biology students using the conventional method in the SMP 1 Tiumang Kab. Dharmasraya. This type of research is experimental research design randomized control group posttest only design. Population of this study were all students of class VII SMPN1 Tiumang Kab. Dharmasraya consisting of two classes. The research used total sampling to select the sample while the control class and the experimental class using random technique. The instrument used to obtain the data in the form of sheets and sheets observation tests of psychomotor and affective aspects. To test the similarity hypothesis testing used two average or t-test. T values obtained are t = 2.46 and t table = 2.00 at α = 0.05 confidence level. Learning outcomes of the average value of the cognitive aspects of experimental class and the control class is 72.40 is 67.57. For the affective aspects of the average value of the experimental class was 87.97% and the average value of the control class is 85.13%. In addition psychomotor aspects with the average experimental value of 87.36% and 83.18% in the control class. From the result of the research, it can be concluded that the results of biological study to the students who use active learning strategies models picture and picture is better than the results of biological study for students using conventional learning.
