Abstract


 

ABSTRACT

            Refining activities that produce sugar cane has traditionally been a major source of income in the village Tigo Balai Agam district since hundreds of years ago. Three major flaws were found in the traditional process conducted is a low evaporation resulting in longer production time and requires more fuel. A device that has function like evaporator which consist of a series of circular alumunium plate for the evaporation process has been studied in a traditional sugarcane distillery in the village of Tigo Balai. This device was tested in the cauldron cooking sap from sugar cane that produces significantly faster evaporation process. The influence of the thickness of alumunium plates that are used to accelerate the ripening process provides 46% faster result. And the introduction of an alumunium plate lid provides the dominant contribution to thr process of evaporation to 56,67% faster.
