Development activities are an unstoppable activity routine in Indonesia, the development
has a negative impact, one of which is the amount of energy stored in the building material. At
present the amount of energy stored in the building materials has not been a particular concern in the
city of Padang, West Sumatra, although it has now become a sustainable development activity
(sustainable) in Indonesia. The methodology of this study will analyze the existing energy in each
building material that will issue an average of five designs of high-rise buildings 145M2 - 180 M2
type located in the city of Padang. From the calculation of each of each building materials, then
obtained energy stored on the production of materials, the use of materials (manufacturing or natural
materials) and transportation of building materials to the project site. Then the average value of
3.509 GJ / M2. of the range The energy value is contained in the range of 3,397 GJ / M2 to 3,653 GJ /
M2.
