Abstract

Mathematics is a form of human activity. This means that learning mathematics in school is not a kind of course activity (teacher center), but able to studied the students. Mathematics learning designed by teachers should be able to make students find their own concepts being studied. By understanding the characteristics of elementary school students, teachers must be skilled in choosing which learning theory can be applied in mathematics learning, especially mathematics learning in primary schools. One theory of learning that can be used as an alternative elementary school teacher is the theory of bruner. Through the learning stages of the discovery are enactive, iconic, and symbolic, students can be fully involved both physically and mentally.
