Abstract

The importance of efficient use of stylistic and rhetorical figure of speech in the locality Minangkabau Indonesian literary texts local color to add and contribute to the insight, knowledge, motivation, and criticism of the development of local color contained in Indonesian literary texts. Moreover, criticism of literary texts also contribute to educational facilities in terms of understanding the cultural diversity of the archipelago. Works of literature, especially the local color, is particularly suitable teaching materials on multicultural education. Colored with local literary work, learners can understand cultural diversity and the uniqueness of an ethnicity through language.
