Abstract
Curriculum changes demanded promote character-based education that aims to build the character of the nation. It is based on the facts and the public perception about the declining quality of moral attitudes and morals of children or young people. Another fact in real life is not just one or two problems are found in the community, but a lot of students who do not understand the functions and responsibilities as learners. For example, many students who commit such violations Tauran among schools, drugs, and even violence because there was resentment triggered by each other among the students making fun of one another. This problem indirectly illustrates the lack of character in students such. Along with it, the government issued a curriculum oriented character formation of the students called Curriculum 2013. The implementation of the curriculum in 2013 is to educate students to make observations / observations, questioning and reasoning against science is taught. Students were given a lesson based on a theme that is integrated in order to have knowledge of the environment, life, and have a strong personal foundation in social life and creativity better. Character education govern human behavior on specific rules, laws, norms, customs in the field of human social life that have a very strong influence on the mental attitude (mental attitude) in the activity of individual human life. Law No. 20 of 2003 on National Education System in Section 3, states that the national education serves to develop the ability and shape the character and civilization of dignity in the context of the intellectual life of the nation. In line with the formulation of the curriculum in 2013, the researchers are interested in conducting research on the influence of curriculum implementation in 2013 of the character formation of students at SDN 05 Experiment door Kabun Bukittinggi.
