Abstract

It has long been suspected that oral tradition or bedtime storytelling among parents increasingly rare. And if you see that so much load on the moral teachings that can be transferred to children through storytelling. Fairy tales as a medium that can form the morals and character of the child. Planting the values of honesty, confidence, courtesy, solidarity, responsibility and many other values can be done through the medium of storytelling. However, the fairy tale as a local literature - have received less attention both for the parents and the community. One of the reasons that led to the fabled less attention is because the parents argued because of the flurry of work that is either by domestic or profession. It must be realized again by the parents that the family is the primary maintainer for the existence of media myths. This institution is a habitat for the survival of a fairy tale as an instrument of moral transformation. Through fairy tales can be used as a means of expression of a parent in expressing and articulating the symbolic life and dynamics surrounding the future of their children. To that end, it is necessary to revive the tradition of storytelling as a family's needs. With the need for it, it will display a sense of ownership that could affect the survival of the fairy tale itself.
