EFFECT OF TOTAL POPULATION, HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX, THE LEVEL OF UNEMPLOYMENT POVERTY IN WEST SUMATRA PROVINCE

Abstract

The proverties problem in the West Sumatera Province still high. This situation happen cause of population, unemployment and quality of human resources. The low of Human Development Index (HDI) will effect in low productivity of the population. Low productivity effecting to lower revenue. Low incomes led to high number of poor people in the West Sumatera Province. Data analysis used for this study is analysis of multiple linear regression method. Using partial test (T test), simultaneous test (F test), and coefficient of determination test (R2). Classic assumption test with multicolinearity test, and heteroskidasticity. The data used in the study is the population, IPM, unemployment level, and proverty level. The result showed that the variables of total population, unemployment level will be positive and significant effect on proverty in West Sumatera, while IPM will be negative and significant effect on proverty in West Sumatera.
