Abstract

One of the factors that influence poverty in Indonesia is economic growth. Economic growth, an increase in output from time to time, is an important indicator for measuring the success of a country's development. Therefore, the identification of various factors that influence it, including the role of the government, is interesting for deeper study. Economic growth is indeed not enough to eradicate poverty, but usually economic growth is something that is needed, even though good economic growth will not be meaningful for the decline of the poor if it is not accompanied by income distribution. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that unemployment has a significant influence on poverty in Indonesia. The increase in the number of unemployed causes the community to be unable to maximize the level of welfare that may be achieved so that it will increase poverty. Unemployment has a positive and significant effect on poverty in Indonesia. A population that is too large will depress people's living standards. If the population increases, poverty will also increase. Education has a negative and significant effect on poverty. Human capital development is believed to not only be able to increase productivity and growth, but also play a central role in influencing the distribution of income in an economy. The Dependence Ratio has a positive and significant impact on poverty. The higher the percentage of the population dependency value, the higher the burden that must be borne by the productive population to support the population that has not been productive and is no longer productive so that it will increase poverty. Per Capita National Income has a negative and significant effect on poverty. The higher the income, the higher the purchasing power of the population, and this increased purchasing power will improve people's welfare.
