This study examines the effects of interest rates, inflation, per capita income, and
unemployment on the purchasing power of Indonesian society during 19932023. Secondary
data were obtained from BPS, Bank Indonesia, and the World Bank, and analyzed using
multiple linear regression with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) approach. The results show
that interest rates have a positive but insignificant impact on purchasing power. Inflation has
a negative and significant effect, while per capita income has a positive and significant impact.
Unemployment negatively and significantly affects purchasing power, indicating that higher
unemployment reduces household consumption. Simultaneously, the four variables
significantly influence purchasing power with a determination coefficient of 95.7%. These
findings highlight the importance of inflation control, income growth, and unemployment
reduction in strengthening purchasing power in Indonesia.
