Abstract

The principal function of a woman is as wife and homemaker, childbirth and child rearing. While the man is the main breadwinner in the family, so that the participation of women in the labor force is strongly influenced factors of social, economic, andcultural. A woman who has been married have to consider a lot of things to go or not in the labor market. Thus, the factors that influence the married women to work would be more complex than men. There are several factors that may influence the married women to work, including education level, income level of the husband, and the number of dependents. Analysis of the data used for this study using multiple linear regression analysis method. Hypothesis testing using partial test (t test), simultaneous test (F test) and test the coefficient of determination (R2). Classical Assumption Test by Test Multicollinearity, Heteroskidastity, and normality. The data used in this study is a data Number of Dependents Family (X1), education level (X2), Revenue husband (X3), Wage (X4) and the status of Married Women's Hours of Work in the city of Padang The results showed that a variable number of family dependents (X1), education level (X2), and the wage rate (X4) has apositive influence and not significant to women are married Hours in the desert city, while the husband income (X3) has the effect that significant negative and against married women working hours in the desert city.
