Abstract

This study aims to look at and analyze the effect of the number of business units, investment, and the provincial minimum wage on employment labor absorption of the small industrial sector in Padang. The data used are secondary data start from 1998-2012 from the Central Agency on Statistic (BPS), the Department of Industry, Trade, Mining and Energy (Disperindagtamben), and other relevant agencies. From the results of hypothesis testing can be concluded that the variable number of business units and investments have a significant effect on employment in the small industrial sector in the Padang, while the provincial minimum wage variable has insignificant effect.
