impact on the economy of poverty.
This study uses panel data analysis that combined the data from the years 2011-2013
time series and cross section 19 districts / cities in West Sumatra province. Analysis of the
data used for this study using multiple linear regression analysis method. Hypothesis testing
using partial test (t test), simultaneous test (F test) and test the coefficient of determination
(R2). Classical Assumption Test with normality, test Multicollinearity, Heteroskidastity and
autocorrelation. The data used in this research is data Economic Growth and Unemployment
and Poverty rate in the province of West Sumatra.
The results showed that partial variable economic growth is negative and significant
effect on the level of poverty in the province of West Sumatra. while unemployed number
positive and significant impact on the level of poverty in the province of West Sumatra. And
the R-squared value of 0.522, which means 52.20 percent of the poverty level variables can
be explained by the independent variables (economic growth and unemployment. While the
rest of 47, 80 percent is explained by variables - other variables outside the model.
