Abstract

Economic development is needed to reduce the level of unemployment. Indonesia has the potential of human resources (HR), which can be developed. However, the increasing number of labor force that is not offset by the expansion of employment will carry the burden for the economy, the labor force who are not accommodated in the labor market will cause unemployment. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of educational level, age, salary towards the long search for employment for educated labor in the South Coastal District. The variables of this research is the dependent variable (Dependent variable) and the independent variable (independent variable. The population in this study is an educated workforce with education level high school graduates / D3 and S1 in the South Coastal District. While the sample to be studied by 100 respondents. the sampling method using purposive random sampling, the researchers use own judgment deliberate in selecting members of the population which is considered to provide the necessary information or a sample unit in accordance with the characteristics, properties, or certain characteristics that are fundamental characteristics of the population. can concluded that in this study indicate that jointly affect the dependent variable long been looking for work for educated labor in Pesisir Selatan regency with a value of R ² = 50.2% while the remaining 49.8% is influenced by other variables outside the model. for testing individual or partially (t test) variable levels of education (X1), the age variable (X2) and variable wages (X3) has an influence on the long search for employment for educated labor in Pesisir Selatan regency with prob value <0.05.
