Pengaruh Karakteristik Kepala Daerah Terhadap Kinerja Keuangan Pemerintahan Daerah (Studi Empiris Pada Pemerintahan Kabupaten/Kota di Sumatera 2014)

Abstract

Financial performance of local government in Indonesia is till not optimal.It is evidenced that some local government has a  high performace and other keep lower. However, there is no  many previous studies concentrating on this issue. Therefore, this study try to determine what factors affecting this performance variation. The Upper Achelon Theory (UAT) conted that the characteristics of management could affect the performance, such as Age, Experience, etc. Using 106 local government in Sumatra, we applied the multiple regression analysis, we find that there is no effect of the local government leader’s characteristics on the performance of local government. however, total area and population of the disctrict or city have a significant relationship with performance. this study has a theoritical contribution in the sense that with certain phenomenas in indonesia’s local government do not have contributing to the resorces dependent theory. Pratically, this finding could be used by the society to consider the candidate in local governement election.
