ABSTRACT
Criminal acts involving protected turtles are regulated in Law Number 5 of 1990 concerning Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems Article 21 paragraph (2) letter b and Criminal Provisions stipulated in Article 40 paragraph (2) Someone Yef conducts trade in sea turtle eggs in Beroknipah. The BPSPL officer from Padang conducted an arrest against Yef in collaboration with the Padang Police to arrest the Yef Padang perpetrators, Monday, January 18, 2016. Problem Formulation arc (1) What is the role of Padang Coastal and Marine Resources Management in eradicating the trade of protected turtles in West Sumatra (2) What obstacles were encountered by the Padang Coastal and Marine Resources Management Office in eradicating protected turtles in West Sumatra. This study used a type of sociological juridical research. The data sources are primary data and secondary data, data collection techniques are carried out by interview and document studi, data are analyzed qualitatively. Conclusion of research results (1) The role of BPSPL in eradicating turtles protected by BPSPL has: a. Supervision b. raid officer c. Conservation and conservation education (2) The obstacles encountered by BPSPL are finding: a. Investigate who circulates the egg b. Gender factors c. In the case of eradicating turtle egg traders d.
