Abstract

The village head in reconciling disputes between communities in the village is regulated in Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. disputes between the people of the village of Huta Godang Sungai Sungai District, Labuhanbatu District, South Sumatra Province have been going on for a long time from 2014 to 2018. Formulation of the problem: (1) What are the steps taken by the village head if there is a dispute between the people in the village of Huta Godang? (2) What are the obstacles faced by the village head in reconciling community disputes in the village of Huta Godang? (3) How is the settlement effort in the event of a community dispute in the village of Huta Godang ?. This type of research is a sociological juridical approach. Data sources from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques with interviews in the village head's office and document study. Data were analyzed quantitatively. Conclusion of the research results: (1) steps taken by the village head, namely bringing together parties in one place and conducting talks, the village head with the community looking for the best solution for the disputing parties, mediation carried out with both parties, looking for causes and solutions the problem. (2) the constraints faced are individual factors, more than one problem, lack of coordination with (BPD), not yet running (BPD) to the maximum, community thought patterns. (3) the efforts made are to appeal to the community, to embrace the community, to empower the community, to empower the fields of government in the village.
