PERANAN KOMISI PEMILIHAN UMUM DAERAH DALAM SOSIALISASI PEMILIHAN KEPALA DAERAH KEPADA PENYANDANG DISABILITAS DI KOTA PADANG

Abstract

The role of the KPU in the socialization of Pemilukada on Persons with Disabilities in Padang City. Persons with disabilities who have the requirements to have equal opportunities as voters, candidates for DPR members, candidates for DPD members, and candidates for president / vice president, while according to data obtained from the KPU of Padang City, many people with disabilities do not use their rights as voters. Formulation of the problem 1) how is the role of the election commission in the socialization of regional head elections for persons with disabilities in the city of Padang. 2) What are the obstacles faced by the General Election Commission in carrying out the socialization of Pemilukada to Persons with Disabilities in Padang City. 3) What are the efforts made by the KPU in overcoming the obstacles that occurred in the socialization of Pemilukada to Persons with Disabilities in Padang City. The research method used in this study is a sociological juridical method that is by conducting document studies, library studies, interviews as a data source. The socialization was only carried out on Disabled Persons under the auspices of the Padang City Disabled Persons Association. In carrying out the KPU socialization, there were still obstacles namely lack of financial, lack of community response, limited personnel, and short time in socializing, while the KPU's efforts to overcome these obstacles were by conducting coordination meetings, KPU had also made billboards, and the KPU had socialize with a successful team.
