MECHANISM OF COMPLETION OF LEGISLATIVE ELECTION DISPUTES BY BAWASLU PROVINCE OF WEST SUMATERA BASED ON LAW NO 7 OF 2017 ABOUT GENERAL ELECTION
Abstract
Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections defines process disputes as disputes that occur between election participants and election participant disputes with the election organizer as a result of the issuance of the decision of the General Election Commission, Provincial KPU Decree, and Regency / City KPU Decree. a) How Dispute Settlement Mechanism Process Legislative Elections by Election Supervisory Body of West Sumatra Province? b) What are the problems faced in the dispute resolution process of legislative elections by the Election Supervisory Body of West Sumatra Province? c) What are the efforts made by the West Sumatra Province Bawaslu in Resolving Legislative Election Dispute Process?. The method used in this study is sociological and data source. There are Primary Data and Secondary Data. The techniques of data collection through interviews and document studies. The analysis of the data as qualitative. The result of the study : 1) Settlement of legislative election process disputes by the Election Supervisory Body, petition, material verification, mediation request, adjudication, decision 2 ) Problems that are found in the legislative election dispute resolution process is completion time, human resources factor, Internal membership. 3) Efforts to overcome obstacles in resolving disputes in the legislative election process are to act decisively, build cooperation, and provide information disclosure.
