PERAN BADAN PENGAWAS PEMILU (BAWASLU) DI PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT DALAM MENYELESAIKAN PELANGGARAN PEMILIHAN KEPALA DAERAH
Abstract
Election of Regional Head and Deputy Regional Head, hereinafter referred to as the election of Regional Head Election, is a means of enforcing people's sovereignty in the Province or City Region based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia for the election of Regional Heads and Deputy Regional Heads. The formulation of the problem in this study are 1). What are the roles and tasks of the West Sumatra Province Bawaslu. 2). What is the process and resolution of violations in the Election of Regional Head or Bawaslu of West Sumatra Province. 3). What are the obstacles faced by Bawaslu in solving violations of the General Election of Regional Heads in West Sumatra. The method used in this study is the Sociological Juridical Method. Data sources used are Primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques with the study of documents and interviews, which were analyzed by qualitative methods, with semi-structured interview techniques. The results of this study 1). The role and duties of the West Sumatra Province Bawaslu are carried out based on Law Number 7 regarding Election Organizers 2) Violations found in the election of Regional Heads in West Sumatra, namely (1) Violations of Election Crime (2) Administrative Violations (3) Violations of the Code of Ethics . 3) Constraints faced by Bawaslu in the completion of the holding of general elections for Regional Heads namely (1) Time limitations (2) Legal Culture
