PERANAN SATUAN POLISI PERAIRAN DAN UDARA (POLAIRUD) DALAM PENANGGULANGAN TINDAK PIDANA PERIKANAN DI WILAYAH PERAIRAN SUMATERA BARAT

Abstract

ABSTRAK

Fisheries criminal offenses are regulated in Article 85 of Law Number 45 of 2009 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 2004 concerning Fisheries. On May 24, 2015 there was fishing using tools which were using trawlers, in the waters of the Air Bangis Sea, Sungai Beremes District, Pasaman Barat Regency, West Sumatra. Formulation of the problem: (1) What is the role of the Water and Air Police Unit in overcoming the crime of Fisheries in the West Sumatra Waters Region? (2) What are the obstacles encountered by the Water and Air Police Unit in overcoming the crime of Fisheries in the Waters of West Sumatra? This type of research is sociological juridical research. Data sources are primary data and secondary data, data collection techniques are through interviews and document studies, the data were analyzed qualitatively. Conclusions of the results of the study: 1. The role of the Regional Police of the West Sumatra Regional Police in overcoming the criminal act of Fisheries makes pre-emptive and preventive and repressive efforts. 2. The obstacles encountered were the lack of human resources, budget funds, facilities and infrastructure and geographical location.
