Penitentiary officers who commit violence in Penitentiary can be punished because they have committed violent crime as regulated in Article 352 of the Criminal Code as a case of physical violence committed by Lapas officers against community members of Class II Correctional Institutions in Lubuk Basung. The formulation of the problem is? 1) How is the investigation carried out by Lubuk Basung Sector Police investigators against physical violence crimes committed by prison officers against inmates in Class II B Penitentiary in Lubuk Basung. 2) What obstacles were found by the Lubuk Basung Police Police investigator in the investigation of criminal acts of physical violence carried out by prison officers against inmates in the Class II B Penitentiary in Lubuk Basung. The research method used is sociological juridical. Data sources are using primary and secondary data, the data obtained are analyzed qualitatively. Conclusions of the results of the study 1) The investigation carried out by investigators in revealing cases of physical violence carried out by Lapas officers against inmates who started with reports, investigations, investigations and delegation of cases to the prosecutors 2) the obstacles found in the implementation of the investigation namely the difficulty of getting permission to carry out investigations in prison and the witness does not want to give information.
