ABSTRACT

Narcotics began to become a serious problem in Indonesia since mid-1971. According to Article 6 paragraph (1) letter e, the Republic of Indonesia Police Regulations regarding Investigations stated that the investigation was carried out by means of undercover one. In this research, the formulation of the problem is: 1. What is the role of the Directorate of Narcotics Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the West Sumatra Regional Police in conducting investigations of narcotic crime by disguises? .2. What are the obstacles experienced by the Directorate of Narcotics Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the West Sumatra Regional Police in carrying out investigations of narcotics crime by means of disguise? This research uses a sociological juridical approach. The results of the study can be concluded: Investigation of narcotics abuse criminal acts using special techniques not used in other criminal acts, namely wiretapping, disguised techniques and covert purchases. investigation task. After the letter is issued, the supervisor of the investigator appoints the investigator who has been selected. After carrying out the investigation, the investigator makes a report. Based on the report, investigators would arrest the suspect. Constraints that arise when investigators and police investigators deal with narcotics crimes carried out with disguised techniques are: Lack of the amount of equipment needed, Limited operational costs, Investigators get terror and become witnesses in trials, Constraints determine the location of covert purchases, the drug network uses mine techniques.
