Abstract

Interactive electronic Games in modern times people can easily access along with technology development, but not a small amount of technology used in the wrong way, which is contained in the Ministerial Regulation and information No 11 year 2016 about electronic interactive games. The problem is (1) How is the implementation of the function and communication and information functions in taking action against the addicted child of electronic interactive games in Padang City?. (2) What are some of the obstacles facing the Department of Communication and information in reducing the number of addicted children of electronic interactive games in Padang City?. (3) What are the efforts of the Department of Communication and information in reducing the number of addicted children of electronic interactive games in Padang City?. This type of research is conducted by research on sociological law by using primary data. Based on the research results obtained: (1) The implementation of the task and function of the Department of Communication and information is blocking some types of games and socializing the parents about the children who are gaming. (2) The barriers to communication and information services are the lack of supervision performed by nearby people, such as the elderly or the surrounding environment. (3) The efforts of the Department of Communication and information are socialization to parents of children who are addicted to the game and the appointment of expert officers in the field of electronic media.
