EFEKTIVITAS PEMBINAAN NARAPIDANA DI LEMBAGA PEMASYARAKATAN KLAS II A PADANG GUNA MENCEGAH TERJADINYA PENGULANGAN TINDAK PIDANA

Abstract

Penitentiary (LP) based on Article 2 of Law No.12 of 1995 concerning Corrections is a place to provide guidance to prisoners who are serving their sentences. Coaching aims to prepare and improve the behavior of prisoners so that they do not return to committing crimes after they have served their sentence. As an example, there are still many prisoners who are serving another sentence at the Padang Class IIA Penitentiary for committing another criminal act. Problem formulation: (1) What is the form of training for prisoners in the Class IIA Padang Correctional Institution? (2) What are the obstacles faced by the Class IIA Padang Penitentiary? This study uses a sociological legal approach. Data sources are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques were obtained through interviews and document study. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The conclusions of the research results: (1) Guidance organized by LP Class IIA Padang is carried out through personality development and self-reliance (2) Obstacles faced by LP Class II.A Padang are that the assisted residents exceed the capacity, limited facilities in the LP.
