PERLINDUNGAN HUKUM YANG DIBERIKAN OLEH KEPOLISIAN POLISI RESOR KOTA PADANG TERHADAP ANAK YANG MENJADI KORBAN PENELANTARAN OLEH ORANG TUA

Abstract

In 2018, a child (RH) became a victim of neglect by his parents, (RH) was tied to a banyan tree around the Imam Bonjol Green Open Space area, Padang City, (RH) was a minor and was mentally retarded. Formulation of the problem: (1) Implementation of legal protection by the Padang City Police for children who are victims of neglect by their parents? (2) Constraints encountered by the Padang City Police? The research method is sociological juridical, the data sources are primary and secondary data, data collection techniques are interviews and document studies, then the data are analyzed qualitatively. Conclusion: (1) The Padang City Police, together with the Child Protection Institution, Non-Governmental Organizations, provide protection, assistance, advocacy, and rehabilitation. (2) The obstacle is that investigators experience difficulties when interacting with victims because they are under 5 years of age.
