The Covid-19 pandemic is already at a dangerous level, making the government have to make policies related to the spread of Covid-19 in prisons through Permenkumham Number 10 of 2020 which was later amended and outlined in Article 2 Paragraph (1) Permenkumham Number 32 Year 2020 due to several substances of change. The implementation of this Permenkumham is also felt by the prisoners who live in the Class IIA Padang Prison. Formulation of the problem: (1) How was the implementation of assimilation and integration of prisoners in Class II A prison in Padang during the COVID-19 pandemic? (2) What were the obstacles faced in the implementation of assimilation and integration of prisoners in the Class IIA Padang prison during the COVID-19 pandemic? This type of research is a sociological law study, the types of data that are primary and secondary are the types of data used in this study. interviews and document studies are the ways to collect data carried out in this study after which the data obtained is analyzed in a qualitative way. Conclusion 1) Implementation of assimilation in Padang Class IIA Lapas is not in accordance with Permenkumham Number 32 of 2020, because there are irregularities related to bureaucracy after the prisoner is released, where there are prisoners who neglect their obligation to report. 2) The obstacles faced are there are still prisoners who do not meet the criteria but have to be freed and many prisoners have difficulty obtaining letters from the urban village regarding community acceptance of ex-convicts.References
