Abstract

The Department of Culture and Tourism of Kerinci Regency plays a role in managing tourism in an area. Primary and secondary data sources, data collection techniques: interviews, document studies and qualitative analysis of data. The results of the study: 1) The duties and authorities of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Kerinci Regency are to supervise and make regulations that support ecotourism development. 2) Constraints in the development of ecotourism are people who don’t understand the importance of maintaining ecotourism. 3) Efforts made by increasing public knowledge about the importance of maintaining ecotourism.
