Abstract

ABSTRAK prostitution Online involving children is regulated in Article 761 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. Padang Police seeks to provide legal protection for children victims ofprostitution online. The formulation of the problem: 1) What are the legal protection efforts by the Padang Police for children as victims ofprostitution online?, 2) What are the obstacles encountered by the Padang Police in providing legal protection for children as victims ofprostitution online? The type of research is sociological juridical; data sources come from primary data in the form of interviews and secondary data in the form of criminal statistics; data collection techniques with interviews and document studies; the collected data were analyzed qualitatively. The conclusions of the research are: 1) The legal protection efforts provided by the Padang Police in providing protection to children victims ofprostitution online are through preventive efforts in the form of counseling and repressive efforts, namely rehabilitation, supervision, conducting raids, 2) Obstacles faced by the Padang Police in providing legal protection for children as victims ofprostitution online in the form of internal constraints, the lack of special service rooms for children and external constraints on the uncooperativeness of the victims when conducting investigations.
