Abstract

Law Number 8 of 1999 regulates Consumer Protection and Article 1238 of the Civil Code regulates default, default can also occur in various e-commerce such as Lazada. Problem formulation: 1) What is the legal protection for consumers in Lazada e-commerce transactions? 2) What is the responsibility of business actors for defaults of business actors in trading through Lazada e-commerce transactions? The type of research is sociological law, the data sources are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are interviews and document studies. The data were analyzed qualitatively. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that: 1) Legal protection for consumers by Lazada is in accordance with Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, in Article 4 of the UUPK concerning consumer rights and Article 7 of the UUPK regarding the obligations of business actors. Lazada to consumers in the form of refunds, exchange of goods and using vouchers from Lazada.
