Abstract

ABSTRAK Street crime,is,a crime contained in several articles of the Criminal Code. Based on data from the Satreskrim Polresta Padang, there were 12,947 cases of street crimes that occurred during 2017-2021. The formulation of the problem (1) What is the role of Padang City Police investigators in the process of investigating street crimes (2) What are the obstacles encountered by Padang City Police investigators in investigating street crimes. This type of juridical sociological research data sources from primary data in the form of interviews and secondar data in the form of criminal statistics data collection techniques with interviews and document studies the data were analyzed qualitatively. Conclusions (1) The role of Padang City Police investigators in the process of investigating street crimes are investigation investigation plans case titles coercive measures determination of suspects, filing submission of case files submission of suspects and evidence termination of investigations. (2) Obstacles encountered by investigators in investigating street crimes consist of interna factors and external factors.
