PERAN KEPOLISIAN DALAM MENANGGULANGI PEMBALAKAN LIAR DI KABUPATEN TANAH DATAR ( Studi kasus di wilayah Hukum Polres Tanah Datar )

Abstract

ABSTRACT Illegal logging activities are prohibited by law, namely Law Number 18 of 2013 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Forest Destruction, as referred to in Article 12 letters a.b.c.f.h. and i, and Article 19 letter d. In the Lintau Sub-district, Tanah Datar Regency, illegal logging activities are carried out openly. Deforestation and theft of wood (into logs) have resulted in very severe forest damage which is then known as illegal logging. Problem Formulation 1) What is the role of the Tanah Datar Police Criminal Investigation Unit in tackling illegal logging in the Tanah Datar Police jurisdiction? 2) What are the obstacles to the Tanah Datar Police Criminal Investigation Unit in dealing with illegal logging cases in the Tanah Datar Police jurisdiction? This research is descriptive with a sociological juridical method with a socio-legal research approach. Sources of data are primary data sources and secondary data. Data collection was done by interview and document study. The data collected was analyzed qualitatively. Conclusion of research results. 1) The Tanah Datar Police Criminal Investigation Unit carries out repressive and preventive efforts in tackling illegal logging. Re[pressive efforts by conducting investigations, investigations, completing case files, and delegating cases to the public prosecutor. Preventive efforts are carried out by conducting raids and socializing about illegal logging. 2) Barriers to the Tanah Datar Police Criminal Investigation Unit, one of which is the lack of community cooperation in dealing with illegal logging.
