Abstract

ABSTRAK The violation of liar racing is regulated in Article 115 Letter b in conjunction with Article 297 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. Problems: (1) What is the role of the Padang Police in dealing with the liar racing case in Padang City?, (2) What are the obstacles faced by the Padang Police in dealing with the liar racing case in Padang City? Juridical-sociological research method. Data sources: primary source data and secondary source data, data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and document studies, the data were analyzed qualitatively. Conclusions: (1) Padang Land Police in handling cases of racing liars has carried out law enforcement starting from prevention and efforts. (2) Obstacles encountered by the Padang Police such as the lack of police officers, raids on leaking information, lack of legal awareness of the community.
