Abstract

Unemployment is a problem that exists in Indonesia, and unemployment is a sign of necessity. Basic labor will lead to low salaries of Indonesian people. What is meant by unemployment is someone who has been recruited into the workforce who is effectively looking for work at a certain level of compensation, but not in accordance with what is desired. 1. What is the role of the duties and functions of the Padang City Manpower and Industry Office in overcoming the Unemployment problem in the Padang City area? 2. How is the implementation of programs or activities carried out by the Padang City Manpower and Industry Office in overcoming the unemployment problem. 3. What are the Efforts and Constraints faced by the Padang City Manpower and Industry Office in overcoming the unemployment problem. The types of research are Empirical Law, Data Collection Techniques, Document Studies, Interviews, and Data Analysis.Research Results: (1). Role of Duties and Functions of the Department of Manpower and Industry in the Organization of Manpower. (2). Implementation of programs or activities carried out by the Department of Manpower and Industry of the City of Padang in overcoming the problem of unemployment. (3). Efforts and Constraints faced by the Department of Manpower and Industry of Padang City in overcoming the problem of unemployment.
