Abstract

Alcoholic beverages are drinks that must be supervised and controlled. The Padang City Government issued the Padang City Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2012 concerning the Supervision, Control and Prohibition of Alcoholic Beverages. Problem formulation: 1) How is the implementation of supervision and control of alcoholic beverages in Padang City? 2) What are the obstacles encountered by the Padang City government in controlling and supervising alcoholic beverages in Padang City? 3) What are the efforts made by the Padang City government in overcoming the obstacles in the supervision and control of alcoholic beverages in Padang City? Data sources are primary and secondary data sources. The collection technique is interview, documentation study. Qualitative data analysis. The results of the study: 1) The implementation of local regulations is not effective. 2) The first obstacle faced is the issue of licensing with a complicated conditional mechanism so that there are violations committed by the seller. 3) the efforts made are, with warning letters, punishments, and raids and coaching.
