The imposition of disciplinary sanctions for convicts who violate the Correctional Code of Ethics must follow the

implementation procedures stipulated in Article 12 paragraphs (1) and (2) of the Regulation of the Minister of Law

and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number 6 of 2013 concerning Orders for Corrections and State

Detention Centers. One example of a case that occurred in Padang City on Sunday, June 21, 2020, West Sumatra,

there were three Class II A Padang prisoners. carry cell phones in prison. Problem Formulation (1) How is the

application of disciplinary punishment for prisoners who violate the rules at the Class IIA Padang Prison? (2) What

are the obstacles faced by Lapas Klas IIA Padang in providing guidance to inmates that have implications for

disciplinary violations? Conclusions (1) The implementation of the rules at the Class IIA Padang Prison went

smoothly, the sanctions for violations committed by prisoners were in accordance with existing regulations, and in

accordance with human rights. (2) In the Class IIA Padang Prison, the officers did not encounter any significant

problems. in implementing the rules at the Class IIA Padang Prison.
