TERRORISM (SUBDEN WANTEROR) CAR BRIGADE OF THE WEST SUMATERA REGIONAL POLICE IN THE ERADICATION OF THE CRIME OF GEGANA TERRORISM

ABSTRACT
The law enforcement officers in the eradication of criminal acts of terrorism are the Gegana
Detachment Subden Wanteror. On 9-15 March 2022, 16 terrorists were arrested in West Sumatra
in 3 different areas in Dharmasraya, Tanah Datar and Payakumbuh. The formulation of the
problem is: 1) What is the role of the Gegana Detachment Sub-Detachment Wanteror Brimob West
Sumatra Police in eradicating criminal acts of terrorism? 2) What are the obstacles faced by the
West Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Subden Wanteror in eradicating criminal acts of terrorism?
This type of juridical sociological research, data sources in the form of primary data and secondary
data, data collection techniques through interviews and document studies, the data were analyzed
qualitatively. Research conclusions: 1) In arresting terrorism suspects from 2016 to 2022, Subden
Wanteror and Densus 88 have arrested 8 people suspected of terrorism in West Sumatra. 2)
Constraints faced by the West Sumatra Police Sub-Department Wanteror are limited equipment and
supporting costs in equipping the equipment needed to eradicate terrorism.
