ABSTRAK The quality and resilience of food goods is very important for consumers, to protect consumer rights and create a balanced consumer position, business actors are regulated in UUPK No. 8 of 1999. Many food goods are marketed by business actors who are not in accordance with standards so that they are detrimental to consumers. Problem Formulation: 1) What is the responsibility of business actors for defective food goods that harm consumers at the Muaro Sijunjung Minimarket? 2) What are the efforts of business actors to minimize the presence of defective food items in the Muaro Sijunjung Minimarket? This type of research is sociological juridical. Primary data sources and secondary data. Data collection techniques were obtained through interviews and document studies. Research results 1) The responsibility of business actors for defective food goods which results in consumer losses at the Muaro Sijunjung Minimarket is to provide compensation in the form of returning goods or refunding according to the agreement with the consumer. 2) The efforts of business actors to minimize the presence of defective food items at the Muaro Sijunjung Minimarket are to check the goods regularly, and ensure that food items that are about to expire are sold earlier.References
