Abstract

ABSTRACK Sumatran tiger is the only extant tiger species in Indonesia and is an endangered species in the Red List of Threatened Species first published by the IUCN in 1996 and listed in Appendix I of CITES. (1) CITES does not directly regulate the conservation of animals and plants, because CITES is an international convention that deals with protection of species. (2) The Sumatran tiger is listed as an endangered species by the IUCN and is included in the CITES Appendix I category, which means that it is prohibited to trade this species or its parts
