Abstract

ABSTRAK The expiration date, month and year are the deadlines for a food guaranteed quality as long as the storage follows the instructions (best before), currently many food products do not include an expiration date, one of which is batiah cake, because the expiration date is information from the producer to the consumer, which states the limit or grace period of use or utilization of the most "good" (quality) and the most "safe" (Health) of a food or beverage product. This means that the product has "the most excellent quality" only until that time limit. Based on the background of these problems, the problems that will be studied in this study are: 1) What is the form of responsibility of business actors for batiah food without an expiration date? 2)How is consumer law protection against eating batiah that does not include an expiry date?. This type of research is sociological juridical. Primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques are obtained through interviews and document studies. The results of the study are 1) The form of responsibility is carried out by the batiah Lis party by providing compensation in the form of goods or money according to the agreement 2) Consumer protection provided is by referring to the Consumer Protection Law by providing compensation by fulfilling consumer rights.
