PERANAN KEPOLISIAN RESOR KOTA PADANG DALAM PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM ZERO STREET CRIME DALAM RANGKA PENANGGULANGAN KEJAHATAN JALANAN

Abstract

The Zero Street Crime program is one of the efforts of the Padang City Police to reduce crime, especially street crime. The implementation of the Zero Street Crime Program is carried out by the police based on Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Police of the Republic of Indonesia. As data on Street Crime recorded at the Satreskrim Polresta Padang from 2018–2022. The formulation of the problem is 1) What is the role of the police in implementing the Zero Street Crime Program in the context of overcoming street crime at the Padang Police? 2) What are the obstacles encountered by the Padang Police in implementing the Zero Street Crime Program in the context of tackling street crime at the Padang Police? This type of research is socio legal: data sources include primary data and secondary data. Data were collected by interview are documentary studi. Data were analyzed qualitatively. The conclusions of the research results 1) Efforts to deal with street crime by conducting patrols and outreach to create safe and conducive conditions. 2) The obstacles faced by the Padang City Resort Police when carrying out the Zero Street Crime Program were internal constraints, a shortage of program implementing staff, a lack of infrastructure, and external constraints, leakage of information on patrols and raids, the public's indifference to existing regulations and the lack of information obtained.
