PELAKSANAAN PERJANJIAN PERKAWINAN DI KECAMATAN AUR BIRUGO TIGO BALEH KOTA BUKITTINGGI

Abstract

ABSTRACT A marriage agreement is an agreement made by the prospective husband and wife at the time or before the marriage which regulates matters agreed upon by both parties. However, in the community of Aur Birugo Tigo Baleh Subdistrict, it turns out that many people in this sub-district do not make a marriage agreement. The formulation of the problems discussed in this study (1) What are the factors that cause married couples to make a marriage agreement? (2) What is the impact of making a marriage agreement? This type of research is sociological juridical research. Data sources are obtained from primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by semi-structured interviews. Then the data is analysed qualitatively. The result of the research: (1) the reasons for making a marriage agreement as an effort to ensure economic stability in a family, an effort to maintain relationships and guarantee the rights and obligations of each party involved in the marriage. (2) The impact of making a marriage agreement is the psychological impact of creating a sense of comfort, security, and protecting women's rights from discrimination and husband's abuse.
