Cigarette smoke has long been a cause of health problems throughout the world. The phenomenon of passive smoking poses a health threat that community. Despite international efforts, reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) indicate that there are approx. 34.5 percent of the world's population or around 70.2 million people are still smokers. Responding to this problem, the Indonesian government has issued a No-Smoking Zone (KTR) regulation. Universities as part of KTR are a focus because there are law students who should have a better understanding. This research aims to analyze the level of compliance of Bung Hatta University Faculty of Law students with regulations prohibiting smoking in the teaching and learning environment. The formulation of the research problem is the level of student compliance and the factors that influence student legal compliance with No-Smoking Area regulations. The research method used is socio-legal with primary data collected through questionnaires and observations, as well as secondary data in the form of building facilities and number of students. The research results show that the level of student compliance is relatively low, even though there are "No Smoking" signs on campus. Various factors and student awareness have influence on this.References
