Abstract

ABSTRAK The use of online transportation has resulted in problems in the field of consumer protection law. An issue that really needs attention is regarding the legal protection of consumers' personal data. This exists because it is easy for Grab to obtain the personal data of its consumers. One way Grab can obtain consumers' personal data is during the process of using the service. Problem Formulation: 1) What is the legal protection for the personal data of consumers using the Grab Application online transportation service? 2) What is the responsibility of Grab's online transportation service provider regarding the confidentiality of consumers' personal data? This type of research is sociological juridical, data sources come from primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques through interviews and document study. Data was analyzed qualitatively. Conclusion of Research Results: 1) Legal protection of personal data of consumers using online transportation services. The Grab application, Grab provides a form of legal protection for unauthorized use of confidential consumer information by third parties. Grab prohibits the use of software for purposes that deviate from Grab. Grab only uses data for service requirements. 2) Grab is responsible and limited to the obligations that Grab gives to consumers. Grab is not responsible for claims of loss and damage caused by users.
