UPAYA LEMBAGA PEMASYARAKATAN DALAM MENCEGAH PEREDARAN NARKOTIKA DI KALANGAN WARGA BINAAN PEMASYARAKATAN (STUDI KASUS LPKA KELAS II TANJUNG PATI)

Abstract

The misuse and circulation of narcotics in Indonesia have spread throughout the country and have infiltrated various aspects of life, including workplaces, educational environments, and law enforcement settings. One of the law enforcement environments that is also not immune to drug abuse and circulation is Correctional Institutions. As a guideline for proper implementation of Corrections, Republic of Indonesia Law No. 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections was issued. The main issues addressed in this research are: How does the Correctional Institution make efforts to prevent drug circulation within Tanjung Pati Class II Correctional Institution? And what are the obstacles faced by Tanjung Pati Class II Correctional Institution in preventing drug circulation within the institution? The research method used is descriptive analysis using the Sociological Legal method. (1) Tanjung Pati Class II Correctional Institution makes efforts to prevent drug circulation within the correctional facility through preventive and repressive measures, guidance for inmates, and enhancing human resources and facilities. (2) Tanjung Pati Class II Correctional Institution faces obstacles in preventing drug circulation, mainly due to a lack of facilities and infrastructure affecting the security system within the prison.
