Abstract

ABSTRAK Japan's dumping of B3 nuclear waste into the Pacific Ocean has had a negative impact on marine sustainability and ecosystems. 1) What are the regulations regarding the disposal of B3 nuclear waste in terms of the 1989 Basel Convention? 2) How is the juridical study regarding the disposal of B3 nuclear waste by Japan viewed from the 1989 Basel Convention? Types of normative legal research. Secondary data sources consist of primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials. The data collection technique is library research. Data was analyzed qualitatively. Research results: 1) the indiscriminate dumping of B3 waste in the Pacific Ocean which makes the sea polluted which has an impact on the marine ecosystem, violating the rules in the 1989 Basel Convention 2) a juridical study of the dumping of B3 waste by Japan which makes international countries anxious and afraid of the impact The danger of Japan's actions is that Japan's actions have violated the rules of international law UNCLOS 1982 and the Basel Convention 1989.
